Friedrich "Fritz" Kreisler (February 2, 1875 – January 29, 1962) was an Austrian-born violinist and composer. One of the most famous violin masters of his or any other day, and regarded as one of the greatest violinists of all time, he was known for his sweet tone and expressive phrasing. Like many great violinists of his generation, he produced a characteristic sound which was immediately recognizable as his own. Although he derived in many respects from the Franco-Belgian school, his style is nonetheless reminiscent of the gemütlich (cozy) lifestyle of pre-war Vienna. Franz Rupp (* 24 February 1901 in Schongau ; † 27 May 1992 in New York ) was a German-American pianist . Franz Rupp was from 1916 to 1922 at the Academy of Music in Munich by August Schmid-Lindner , Friedrich Klose and Walter Courvoisier formed. In 1920 he undertook with the violinist Willy Burmester his first tour of the United States . From 1926 he lived in Berlin and started in the 1930s as a concert companion a name. He was from 1927 to 1934 the permanent accompanist of Heinrich Schlusnus and 1930 to 1938 he worked with Fritz Kreisler together, whom he accompanied on his 1935 tour of South America and all the violin sonatas with him in 1935-36 in London Beethoven for the record recorded. In addition, he accompanied singers such as Lotte Lehmann , Sigrid Onégin , Maria Stader and Beniamino Gigli . He also appeared as a soloist with various orchestras as well as with the German conductor Wilhelm Furtwängler on. He was also estimated as a chamber musician, organist and harpsichordist.
